If he were to leave, a heel turn and a program with Rhodes or Seth Rollins are discussed as a potential exit strategy. Dave Meltzer had also confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying, “I do not believe he’s re-signed. It’s basically a numbers game. It’s not like he’s a guy who’s looking to leave, it’s just a numbers game. He wants a certain number and they did not offer that certain number.”

WWE is working on creative directions for McIntyre in the future. However, the outcome depends on whether he signs a new contract. Failure to do so could impact his title opportunities and placement in the company, potentially relegating him to mid-card status. Despite McIntyre’s impressive WWE journey, he hasn’t held a championship since February 2021. His recent return set the stage for an Intercontinental Championship match at SummerSlam. However, Gunther emerged victorious in that bout.

Just a few months remain until WrestleMania 40. There’s a strong possibility that Drew McIntyre could fully embrace his heel persona. Recent developments on Monday Night Raw involving The Judgment Day have already set the stage. He has his eyes set on the WWE World Championship at the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE. To what extent will he go to capture the title remains to be seen? Nevertheless, a prime opportunity lies in front of WWE to cement the Scotsman’s heel turn.
