Zach Gowen, who wrestled for WWE from 2003 to 2004, had his one leg amputated as a child because of cancer. He recently talked about how Lesnar’s presence of mind prevented him from having a life-threatening injury during a match.

Brock Lesnar’s wrestling style may appear rough to many people, but he is a consummate professional inside the ring.

Zach Gowen, who became popular in WWE for his courage to wrestle on one leg, was involved in a feud with the former UFC Champion on SmackDown in 2003. On Rewind Recap Relive – Wrestling Interviews, Gowen talked about how Lesnar always protected his opponent when they were wrestling.

He also revealed how one time during a match, ‘The Conqueror’ managed to save his life.

Gowen recalled, “In fact, one moment in our match he was supposed to give me… like a triple Powerbombs. Then, after two, he felt I got knocked out. He felt my body go limp for a second. I hit the back of my head on the mat.”

“I was knocked out on the Power Bomb and it was supposed to be three. But he felt that I was in danger, so he just let me go. He might have saved my life if we’re being 100% honest.

This is truly a fascinating story of Lesnar being able to take care of his fellow wrestlers in the ring. It is pertinent to note that this incident occurred early in his career, while Lesnar was only in his second year with WWE. Gowen was full of praise for the former WWE Champion.

Lesnar’s next WWE match

Fans can look forward to seeing Brock Lesnar in WWE soon. According to Xero News, WWE is planning for a Bobby Lashley v/s Brock Lesnar match at the Crown Jewel event in November.

With Lashley holding the United States Championship, and this bout could very well be for the title. Lesnar wrestling for the U.S. Championship would be unthinkable, but it could do wonders for the prestige of the title itself. WWE is focused on elevating the mid-card titles and such a marquee match could go a long way in achieving that.
