There’s nobody quite like Vince McMahon. The former WWE president came up with some of the wackiest storylines in all of WWE. He liked to give unique traits to wrestlers, for the audience to be able to relate to them. However, one of his infamous storylines was giving former WWE wrestler Matt Morgan a speech impediment.

In a recent interview, Morgan addressed why McMahon chose that particular trait for him. He also revealed that McMahon wanted to give this character to another WWE superstar before him. WWE must be glad he didn’t go ahead with that decision.

During a recent episode of the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Matt Morgan confessed that Brock Lesnar was the initial choice to play the stuttering character. The Blueprint also felt that nobody would believe him, but that’s the truth. In the podcast, Morgan said, “But, I swear to God as my witness. He told me he wanted to put this on Brock Lesnar. At one point, nobody will ever believe me, and I don’t blame you for not believing me. But as God is my witness, he did say that.

According to McMahon, wrestlers must have a weakness or a hindrance that was not too obvious. However, the 6 foot 8 inch giant almost seemed too perfect for his own good. McMahon told Morgan, “we need you to have an Achilles heel, you look like a million dollars. Right? Everybody tells me you’re super educated. You have all these great things about you, and you don’t have an Achilles heel.”

Therefore, McMahon imparted the speech impediment gimmick on The Blueprint’s character and things didn’t hit off for him as expected.

Vince McMahon thought every wrestler needed an Achilles Heel

Fans of Brock Lesnar could never imagine ‘The Beast’ with a stutter. But ‘The Beast Incarnate’ was too physically gifted, according to McMahon. The WWE Chairman felt that fans would warm up to him if he had a minor hindrance, such as a stutter. However, it didn’t materialize.

During the same interview, Morgan explained why he got selected to play the part. McMahon told him “for years, I’ve been wanting to put this on somebody that I thought was confident in and of themselves. When they get on a microphone, they’re not gonna get nervous that they’re gonna be able to pull this off. And I think it’s you.”

Therefore, that’s why Morgan ultimately got the speech impediment as part of his WWE character, over Brock Lesnar. The Blueprint’s ability to be confident on the mic convinced McMahon in the end. It turns out his special ability and charisma created an obstacle for him in the end. Can you imagine Brock Lesnar with a stutter?
