Much like after watching the 1995 movie SeVen, people asked, “What’s in the box?” Today, wrestling fans are going, what did Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson hand Cody Rhodes? The Rock planted a seed in his last appearance on Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania. This notion plagued viewers due to the gift he handed Rhodes. He did not say what it was, and we still have gotten no update from Rhodes. However, someone seems to have figured out what it may be.

In addition to the frenzy-creating handoff, Rhodes was also told that he should not break Johnson’s heart again. This ominous message came right after the handoff.

On the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Jonathan Hood and Justin LaBar discussed the latest episodes of WWE RAW and SmackDown. The focus point was The Rock and Cody Rhodes’ promo. During their discussion, they discussed the handoff segment and debated what it could be. With their experience in the world of wrestling, they came to one conclusion at the 2:50-minute mark.

“It fits in his palm that looks like maybe a ring of some sort, right? Or some kind of pendant of some sort. I’m not sure. It’s got to be palm size. It’s something that’s a connection to his dad.” This was the final verdict on what it could have been. Before this, they debated whether or not it could’ve been Dusty Rhodes’ Hall of Fame ring. According to them, the narrative was that the former AEW star gave Johnson the ring before their feud. While there was no evidence supporting this, it was dropped. However, both concluded that this handoff built intrigue.

“I’m intrigued. I mean, look, not only are we not only going to wait excited for The Rock to come back whenever that might be six months from now, 12 months from now,” LaBar said. This rings true for the fans as well. Since the handoff, wrestling social media groups and forums have been plagued with topics on what it could be. In a stroke of masterful storytelling, the WWE has engaged the audience till this feud is ready to be picked up.
