Pro wrestling is not always a bed of roses, and wrestlers will affirm that with conviction. Although the storylines and the match outcomes are all pre-planned, the moves they perform in-ring are all real. These high-risk moves often lead to injuries that put wrestlers out of action for months. Dwayne Johnson has been at the receiving end of these injuries. One such injury made him undergo a triple hernia surgery in 2013. When a former WWE booker heard about this, it left him dumbstruck.

And this is just one of the many surgeries that The Rock has undergone in his whole professional career.

Wrestling can be a tough business, not just with regard to the competition but also the move set in the ring. Sometimes wrestlers get injured during a match putting them out of action for months. As in the case of Jon Moxley who recently suffered a concussion during his title match which will keep him away from the spotlight for a while.

Similarly, several wrestlers undergo multiple surgeries in their whole wrestling career. Hulk Hogan, who recently got married to Sky Daily has had 25 surgeries in his entire career. That’s a lot considering his wrestling career has spanned over 40 glorious years.

And just like Hogan, Dwayne Johnson has also undergone multiple surgeries to date, 14 to be precise. One of them has been the triple hernia surgery he underwent in 2013, just before his movie Hercules. Johnson recently spoke about it on The Pat McAfee Show and former WWE booker Jim Cornette couldn’t believe what he heard.

On the 500th episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, he said, “He might tell us here the second but, there are different kinds of hernias. You can have an abdominal and a lower abdominal and it can be in your midsection or it can be on your crotchal area but a triple sounds like 2 crotches and a f*****g stomach. I don’t know about that”.

Johnson has recovered well from that surgery, as we can see now. But how did he get the injury that led to the surgery in the first place?
