Dwayne Johnson unquestionably maintains the top spot as one of the most well-known celebrities in the world at the moment. The Rock is passionate about excelling in the entertainment business and is dedicated to accomplishing so. And his efforts paid off—as evidenced by his $800 million net worth, which has inspired many.

In a similar vein, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman recently expressed his intention to surpass Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson in fame. Usman has had a dominant reign in the weight class and has ascended to the top of the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings.

For the benefit of those who are not UFC fans, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has defeated Leon Edwards five times in a row to successfully defend his welterweight title. He is currently getting ready for his sixth championship match this month.

Meanwhile, according to what he was briefed in a press conference, Edward believes Usman will perform poorly given that he is acting in movies and has landed a role in the upcoming Black Panther sequel, which will get in his mind and distract him from the business.

To which, Usman said, “I put the work in and I got that, but that doesn’t stop me. I want to be bigger than Dwayne Johnson. Bigger than him, so that means I need more work.”

He added, “So, this notion of when people say oh, you’re Hollywood now. It’s going to his head. I think it’s ridiculous to me, and if he’s thinking that, it’s the biggest misconception, it’ll be a short night for him come Saturday night.”

Usman experiences the same professional and financial growth as Dwayne Johnson

It is commonly known that Johnson has not always enjoyed the same level of success as he does now. The widely known ‘seven bucks’ anecdote is from The People’s Champion. Usman, like him, wasn’t always in good financial standing.

On that topic, he recounted a story about his rise to financial success afterward in the same press conference. He added that while he was in college, he could get by on $5 Caesar’s pizzas for two days and ramen noodles for an entire week.

Additionally, he explained how it helped him become financially successful. Given that he had achieved professional success in terms of both money and success, like Johnson, he made it clear that whatever he wanted; he didn’t have to think twice to acquire it.

However, Johnson today has $800 M in assets, while Usman just has $3 M. He is currently far behind Johnson in terms of wealth. Although his career is soaring, it will be intriguing to see if he is eventually surpassed.
