Joe Rogan, the veteran UFC commentator, shocked fans by blasting at an equally veteran WWE Legend for shifting sports to mixed martial arts. Rogan, who is known for his strong opinions and spontaneous wit, criticized none other than CM Punk, one of the most recognizable names in the WWE, for signing with the UFC.

Speaking on his world-famous podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ Rogan did not hold back on his criticism of the six-time World Champion, saying, “I don’t know what’s going to happen with that guy. I don’t understand this whole thing.”

Joe Rogan shares his thoughts on CM Punk’s UFC career

Rogan did not mince his words, despite CM Punk’s immense popularity within his audience. Rogan explained why he thought ‘The Best in the World’ was making a stupid decision by signing with the UFC instead of building himself up with smaller promotions.

“I also think it’s ridiculous for him to fight in the UFC. I think he should fight in a small organization. Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up. I have always said that’s what should have happened with Brock Lesnar,” said Rogan.

‘If He Had The Right Coach’: Joe Rogan Puts UFC Career Of Brock Lesnar Under the Microscope

Fans wonder – is Rogan right? So far, CM Punk’s stint in the world of MMA has been disappointing, to say the least. The former WWE icon made his UFC debut in 2018 after leaving the WWE because of a disagreement with Vince McMahon. He lost his first match to Mickey Gall, an industry pioneer. A series of different injuries and losses has delayed Punk since then.

Why did Joe Rogan mention Brock Lesnar?

Brock Lesnar is very similar to CM Punk in that respect – both were WWE superstars who later signed with the UFC. However, Lesnar had a terrific run with the MMA, quickly winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship title in 2009, and later becoming the first undisputed Heavyweight Champion in 2010. Lesnar beat UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture in just his third fight to win his first title and established his mettle easily.

While fans may agree with Rogan’s analysis of CM Punk’s career so far, it is not too late for ‘The Best in the World.’ Hopefully, he pulls through like he always has, and shows the world what CM Punk is truly capable of.
