John Cena has a huge fanbase. He has been the face of WWE for many years. Throughout all these years, Cena has earned the respect and love of several individuals. That is why he is one of the fan favorites. But Cena has not always received a positive reaction from the fans.

We have often seen Cena giving out his t-shirts and wristbands to the fans. But back in June 2006, fans refused to accept John Cena’s t-shirt during Cena’s match against Rob Van Dam at the ECW One Night Stand PPV.

Before the start of his match against Rob Van Dam, Cena got some hostile reactions from the crowd. Every time Cena threw his t-shirt at the fans, they threw it back to him. And it happened more than once.

The result of the match also did not go in Cena’s favor. On that night, he lost the WWE Championship to Rob Van Dam. Van Dam successfully pinned John Cena by delivering the Five-Star Frog Splash following interference from Edge.

Rob Van Dam soon lost the title to Edge in a triple threat match on WWE Raw in July 2006, also involving John Cena. And at WWE Unforgiven 2006, Cena got his hands once again on the WWE Championship by defeating Edge.

John Cena will soon make his WWE return

John Cena is coming back to WWE later this month. It will be Cena’s first appearance on WWE television following his match against Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam 2021.

Presently, it is not known whether this is just a single appearance or if Cena will be in WWE for a longer period. There have been rumors about Cena competing in a match at the WWE SummerSlam 2022 Premium Live Event.
