Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a fame that is unparalleled in Hollywood right now. But in 2003, during the early days of his acting career, ‘The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment’ got a massive favor from one of the biggest action stars, Arnold Schwarzenegger, that gave more ammunition for The Great One in his journey to the top.

This incident took place in the early 2000s while Johnson was shooting for ‘The Rundown’, one of his early movies in Hollywood. If you have watched the film, you would know that Arnold Schwarzenegger had a cameo in that film. But you might not know this interesting story behind this cameo.

Prior to shooting this film in 2002, The Governator had lunch with Dwayne Johnson and director Peter Berg. During the lunch, Johnson and Berg pitched a cameo role for the bodybuilding legend in their film, The Rundown.

Arnold Schwarzenegger agreed to do the cameo right at that moment. In one scene, you can see Johnson walking past Schwarzenegger as the latter said, “Have fun”.

Dwayne Johnson later spoke about asking Schwarzenegger the reason behind his “Have fun” line, in the movie’s press tour. The reply of The Austrian Oak was, “You’re going where I’ve been”.

Also, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, the legendary bodybuilder heaped praise on the former WWE Champion. Schwarzenegger said, “My screen presence came from bodybuilding, Dwayne’s came from professional wrestling. He could do action very believably, and he is also a very good talker.”

“Professional wrestlers have to be convincing in their talking, and he was always good at that in the ring and he was able to unleash that talent in front of the camera. It was no surprise to me that he would become a star, but it was to everyone’s surprise how far he went,” he added.
