Roger Federer Faces a Challenging Path for His Maiden Title at Geneva Open 2021

Twenty-time grand slam champion and former world number one Roger Federer will play his first clay-court tournament on his home soil this year at Geneva. The Swiss star also confirmed his participation at the French Open and skipped Madrid and Rome Masters.
Roger Federer headlines the main draw at Geneva Open
Along with Federer, top players like Denis Shapovalov, Cristian Garin, Casper Ruud, Fabio Fognini, etc have also announced their participation in the Geneva Open. But, Stan Wawrinka chose to skip the tournament and will play at Roland Garros straight away. Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov received a wild card to enter the tournament.

The Swiss Maestro arrived at the event and also started practicing against Marton Fucsovics. Federer will be the favorite entering the tournament but his fitness on-court is still an issue of concern. As he will be facing a strong bunch of clay-courters, his consistency will be tested.

The draw was released minutes ago and there are some exciting matchups for fans to look forward to. Federer was given a tough draw to clinch another title. The Swiss Maestro might face Cristian Garin or Marin Cilic in the quarter-finals. In the semis, Federer will have to face either Feliciano Lopez or Casper Ruud.
If Federer manages to reach the final, he might face either Shapovalov or Fognini for the title.
