The entire boxing and MMA world is buzzing with excitement now that Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury are preparing to face each other in a huge crossover bout. Fury finally found himself an opponent after his last back in December. After calling out several boxers like Anthony JoshuaOleksandr Usyk, and Joe Joyce, he finally landed on Ngannou. Even though the bout is not for Fury’s WBC title, it still has a lot on the line for both fighters. If Fury loses, he would no longer be undefeated and would also not be able to hail himself as the best boxer in the world.

Meanwhile, if ‘The Predator’ loses, then it would not mean a good start for his boxing career. It would raise a lot of doubts about his capability as a boxer. Thus, both fighters need to achieve a win in the upcoming match-up. What’s more is that Francis Ngannou is even being trained by Mike Tyson himself. However, as the MMA fighter prepares for the fight, Tyson has left his side to go on an International trip instead.

Tyson Fury’s thoughts on the boxing legend training Francis Ngannou

It seems like it’s straight from the script of Hollywood, but it’s happening in reality. As Tyson Fury appeared at the press conference for his bout, he himself pointed out the hilarious irony in the situation. Fury acknowledged that even though he is named after the legendary boxer, it is his opponent who is getting trained by him instead. He stated, “It’s surreal for me to be much of a newborn baby, being named after a boxing champion”.

He further added, “And now the guy you’re named after is training the guy”. Though he didn’t forget to give props to Tyson for “doing a job for Francis”. However, notably, when the news came out, ‘The Gypsy King’ had arrogantly stated that it doesn’t matter who coaches Ngannou, the result would be the same. It remains to be seen, just how far the former champion would be able to push Ngannou in the match-up.
