Floyd Mayweather Set to Make His Return at an MMA Event – Date Announced

The unbeaten Floyd Mayweather will be back in action and has confirmed his return in 2021. After promising a return this year, Mayweather had to postpone his plans due to the global pandemic. While the situations appear to be on track again, ‘Money’ has revealed that his return will take place in Tokyo, Japan.
A few days back, he posted a short clip on Instagram to let fans know his comeback plans. He vowed to stage it at RIZIN, where he had already beaten Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018. That said, he hasn’t revealed any preferred opponent yet.

Meanwhile, boxing reporter Michael Benson has revealed some interesting insights regarding the former world champion’s plans. Akin to Floyd Mayweather’s statement, not much is known about it. However, the news has already sent the fight fans into a frenzy as the former champion’s in-ring return has the potential to be the greatest sporting event, even in an Olympic year.

The 43-year-old has been out of action since his win against Nasukawa in 2018. His return will be under the same banner. The event ‘Mega 2021’ will take place at the Tokyo Dome on a possible date of February 28.
There are several elites in the existing roster of RIZIN, and Mayweather can opt to fight against any of them.
