Francis Ngannou shouldn’t fight again, says a former professional boxer. Anthony Joshua sent a thunderous message to the heavyweight division with a lightning-fast second-round knockout of Francis Ngannou. The victory reignited Joshua’s quest for the world title, showcasing a return to his dominant fighting style. Joshua completely outclassed Ngannou throughout the brief fight.

In the first round, a perfectly placed right hand sent Ngannou reeling, forcing him to recover at the count of eight. The second round proved even more decisive. Joshua, staying calm and composed, landed a looping hook followed by a right hand that starched Ngannou, leaving no room for debate. So much so that it even prompted the former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch to be a bit harsh on Francis Ngannou.

Carl Froch has himself garnered a lot of experience inside the squared circle. So, he can be considered an expert voice when he stated that Francis Ngannou doesn’t belong in the sport of boxing. However, he agreed that nobody thought that they’d be saying this about the former UFC champion after his fight against the WBC champion Tyson Fury in October last year.

Froch said, “For me, it’s justified what’s happened. I’m not happy about it, because I didn’t want to see Ngannou get obliterated and flattened and wiped out like he did, but it shows that boxing as a sport, the art of pugilism, the sweet science is what it is. You’ve got to be in that game to be able to compete at that game, but because he did so well, Ngannou, against Tyson Fury, we thought he belonged didn’t he? He didn’t belong in there with Anthony Joshua.” So, even though there were hopes that Ngannou could become a boxing champion someday, they were soon shattered by Joshua’s power.

Carl Froch added, “That’s why this fight shouldn’t have happened… He smashed Ngannou. That’s probably finished Ngannou’s career… We should never see him in a heavyweight ring, a boxing ring ever again.” According to him, this should be the last of Ngannou in the boxing ring. While he praised Ngannou for his courage and determination in facing two great heavyweights, he contended that a boxing ring is not the place for Francis Ngannou.

The news of Joshua’s victory reached various corners of the world. From boxing analysts to social media megastars, everybody was talking about it. Even KSI and Logan Paul reacted to it.

The short clip, captioned “My god @AnthonyJoshua,” captured the disbelief felt by many after witnessing Joshua’s dominant performance. In the clip, Paul stated, “This is how the Fury fight (vs Ngannou) should have went.” When the KO punch happened, Paul exclaimed, “Oh my God! He killed Francis Ngannou.” KSI was shocked as well. He repeated, “No! He’s actually killed him, bro. Oh my f***ing God.” So, both of them were quite surprised by the way the win came for AJ.
