After Devin Haney won the unanimous decision against Vasyl Lomachenko, several figures disagreed with the judges who scored the bout. While Ryan Garcia felt the decision hurt boxing, Shakur Stevenson called the same a robbery. Following the highly-anticipated Lomachenko vs. Haney bout, popular martial artist and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme also shared his opinion about the fight.

Van Damme disagreed with the decision and felt Lomachenko should have won the match instead of Haney. Consequently, the 62-year-old Kickboxer hit-maker took to social media and offered his views. In his opinion, despite being eleven years younger than Vasyl Lomachenko, Devin Haney lost the contest in the ring.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is synonymous with the views of the manager of Vasyl Lomachenko

According to the manager of Vasyl Lomachenko, Egis Kilmas, the decision was the biggest robbery in the middle of the day. In his opinion, Christmas came in the summer for Team Haney. However, Kilmas assured that they would appeal “because somebody needs to end this injustice. According to Kilmas, the judges scored the contest insanely. In his opinion, it is just not acceptable. “Those judges, when they’re scoring completely insane scores they do not understand how those fighters are working hard to get into that place. And then being robbed like that? It’s not acceptable. We’re gonna go all the way to the end to appeal,” declared Kilmas.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is synonymous with the views of Kilmas. Thus, taking to Instagram, Van emphasized how Lomachenko performed better despite there being an age gap of eleven years. In a short video, Van Damme pointed at Devin Haney and claimed ‘The Dream’ lost. “Alright, this is JCVD. Eleven years of difference. This guy [Haney] tonight lost. And the other guy, Lomachenko, wins. It’s that simple. There’s the audience, the crowd from the USA loves him. And you have three USA judges. I know boxing and martial arts and he lost. Thank you,” stated Van Damme.
