Jake Paul Details His “Boxer’s Schedule” – It’s Similar to Floyd Mayweather

Uncle Roger Mayweather once described Floyd Mayweather as a “freak to train.” Well, such was the obsession with training for Mayweather. He trained regularly, and at awkward times a day. His work ethic was unparalleled and, to some extent, even insane. In fact, Leonard Ellerbe himself once claimed that no athlete, including the likes of Sugar Ray Leonard, Larry Holmes, or even Mike Tyson, ever matched the frequency and intensity of Mayweather’s procedure for training.

In the recent episode of the ImPaulsive Podcast, Jake Paul disclosed a drill of his own which Logan Paul found to be similar to that of ‘Money’. It’s The Problem Child‘s attitude towards and treatment of sleeping.

Jake Paul entered with some coffee at 7:00 PM. At this, Logan Paul questioned why. To answer his elder brother, Jake said he went to sleep at 4:00 AM. On being asked for the specific reason, the following is what Jake Paul told them:

“I fight at midnight. You can’t get the brain clock ready to go to sleep when I’m about to fight.” At this, ‘The Maverick’ further interrogated Jake Paul if he had adjusted his schedule to that of a professional boxer’s.

Is Jake Paul imitating the routine once followed by Floyd Mayweather?

Reportedly, as the match would approach nearer, Floyd Mayweather, several times a week, would pull off “night shifts” at the gym. He explained that going to work when his opponent would be sleeping gave him some sort of psychological ascendency for the upcoming fight. Is Jake Paul heading for the same?

Unhesitatingly, Paul answered, “All I do is stay up late to train at night and optimize for being able to wake at midnight just when you fight.”

According to Jake Paul, he has been following this strict routine for the past two years of his life. Logan Paul had heard that Mayweather trained similarly and so woke up at 4:00 PM or 5:00 PM. Therefore, the next question that followed was when Jake woke up the latest.
