It’s not just Tyson Fury’s fans who are expecting the big return of the fighter to his once formidable self. His upcoming opponent, Oleksandr Usyk too expects to see the best version of the WBC heavyweight champion, that was missing in his last big bout.

For an undisputed clash between two heavyweight champions, the expectations are generally of a head-to-head battle. While everyone seems confident of ‘The Cat’s’ might, they remain doubtful of Fury’s prowess as a boxer. This distrust stems from how the fighter fared against Francis Ngannou some six months ago. Will the old and dangerous Tyson Fury make an appearance or will we see a shadow of his former self?

Speaking to Seconds Out, the Ukrainian fighter claimed, “Tyson Fury will be different with my fight. Because it’s my opinion, Tyson Fury, when boxing with Francis Ngannou, maybe [he was thinking] it’s a UFC guy, ‘blah, blah, blah. I win, it’s an easy fight’. It’s my opinion. I don’t know. Maybe it’s true, maybe not, but I know that Tyson Fury will be different with me,” Usyk said.

For the 37-year-old fighter, his entire focus on the fight is beyond marketing. He insinuates that, unlike his opponent, he remains devoted to his camp, his family, and things that matter to him.

Oleksandr Usyk revealed, “My focus is my training. My focus is my family. My focus is my team. I’ve not used Instagram, never. Now, now it’s bad for me. It’s a waste of time. I read my books, I speak with my family…. My focus is my camp. I don’t read the news, I don’t watch the world news, I’m only here. It’s my preparation. My focus is only May 18, only Ring of Fire [the name of the show].”

How does he envision fight night to look like? “If I can do a KO, I will. If I can do 12 rounds, I do 12 rounds. My goal is to win. How it will be, it’s God’s will. My strategy is win. Enough,” contended the unified heavyweight champion.
