In 2016, Cody Rhodes left WWE because of creative frustrations. For a couple of years, he wrestled for different independent promotions before helping to set up AEW. However, he eventually returned to WWE in 2022. At WrestleMania 38, he made his second debut in the promotion against Seth Rollins and emerged victorious. He had to take a break from wrestling because of suffering from a torn pectoral muscle. But made a comeback in the 2023 Royal Rumble and even won the 30-men match and headlined WrestleMania 39 alongside Roman Reigns.

But none of this would have not happened if WWE had rejected his special condition while hiring him. Yes, he made a deal with the Stamford-based promotion while signing his return contract with the company. But what was the deal? Let’s find out.

He said, “Cody just basically breaks the silence, and he goes, Well, you don’t get me without Kingdom on this conference call, all right?! He swore up and down right when he started using it that if I go back to WWE, I am taking Kingdom with me. And I mean, he’s been nothing but truthful with us the whole time.”

‘The American Nightmare’ used his theme song, ‘Kingdom’, on all the other independent promotions he has worked with. The song depicts his wrestling journey and his success and failure stories. It is very close to his heart. Therefore, he was not ready to give up on the song when he decided to return to WWE. If WWE wanted Rhodes they were going to get him with everything that made him a prized asset in the first place.

‘Kingdom’ is very popular among fans these days. Whenever the entrance music plays, the entire WWE Universe sings his song. Especially the ‘Big Woah’ part. But it took a couple of years for it to become a thing.

Undoubtedly, the best part of the former AEW star’s entrance theme kingdom is the big ‘Woah’. But it took almost 6 years for the phrase to catch on. As mentioned by Vliet in his recent Instagram reel, the 37-year-old star used his ‘Kingdom’ theme song in AEW, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and several other independent circuits.

But it was not until mid-2022 that the ‘Big Woah’ became famous. The WWE fans have given his already popular entrance theme a new life with them singing in unison whenever the ‘Woah’ part belts out. Now every time the 6’2 star’s entrance music hits, the entire WWE Universe screams his popular catchphrase at the top of their voice.
