It is cannot be ascertained what is truly causing this problem, but fans will no longer be able to purchase Nintendo’s titles, at least temporarily. The studio has merely stated that the payment service is undergoing maintenance work and offered an apology to the users for the inconvenience.
According to a report by The Verge, the Japanese studio has shared a vital message on the website to notify Russian fans.

“Due to the fact that the payment service used in Nintendo eShop has suspended the processing of payments in rubles, Nintendo eShop in Russia is temporarily placed into maintenance mode.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will share updates as the situation develops.”
