Former F1 Driver Believes Pierre Gasly’s Red Bull Dream Is Finished for Good

Pierre Gasly had an outstanding 2020 season. He moved back to Alpha Tauri from Red Bull after a tough 2019 season and regained the lost reputation by recording his first-ever Formula 1 race win at Monza.
To see Gasly on the top of the podium was one of the most exciting moments of this season as he became the first French winner since Olivier Panis in 1996.
Pierre Gasly was picked by Red Bull to replace Daniel Ricciardo as the latter made a surprise move to Renault. However, Gasly failed to impress and did not last with the team as Alex Albon replaced him.

However, Red Bull’s second driver problems still continue to hurt them as Albon showed sparks of brilliance but failed to impress overall in 2020. It is widely believed that the Red Bull seat is wide open.
Meanwhile, former F1 driver Karun Chandhok made his pick of the top-10 drivers in 2020. Karun picked Gasly as the sixth-best driver of the season and commented on a possible Red Bull comeback.
He said, “I cannot see him getting back to the main Red Bull team so I think he needs to use 2021 to build on the foundations of this year and launch himself into the driver market outside the Red Bull family.”
Pierre Gasly displayed incredible strength this season
The Red Bull debacle was really tough on the Frenchman and it must have taken a mental toll on him last year. However, Gasly pulled himself back up and managed an unprecedented race win to redeem himself.
Chandhok explained, “He is a lovely guy who has shown incredible mental strength after bouncing back from a very difficult 2019 where not only did his career look in tatters but he also lost his best friend in Anthoine Hubert.”
