Despite all the speculations and concerns, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri seem to getting along very well so far. The two young drivers are working together, trying to push the team forward. These efforts are paying off as well, with the Austrian GP as proof. So after a positive weekend ahead of the British GP, the two were made to put on their managerial hat and choose their dream team. In doing so, the two picked drivers that turned this innocent game into fierce competition. They picked drivers that would not make them cut-throat rivals as team bosses and picked drivers who already are arch-rivals.

Ever since the 2021 season, every interviewer has asked their interviewee to pick between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. This effectively became the question during Norris and Piastri’s make-your-dream-team chat with YouTuber Tommo for his latest video. However, Tommo had one condition for the McLaren men. There cannot be discord in the team because of the lineup, so picking two compatible drivers became a necessity.

Lando picked his best friend, as confessed by Verstappen himself in the past, as his first pick. In fact, the Dutchman has stood up for his friend as well on multiple occasions. Coming back, Norris gave Piastri the opportunity to pick his first driver. Piastri said, “See I was going to say Max and Lewis but then you said…” hinting at the no discord in a team condition.

Now sticking to the current grid, Piastri chose Fernando Alonso as his second driver. He said, “My first is Lewis Hamilton, second is Fernando Alonso. Lewis and Fernando round two.” Norris on the other hand picked Yuki Tsunoda as his second driver. His reasoning? “Just for pure content” confessed Norris.

The two McLaren men are fielding a strong lineup and perhaps one we might see in the future, at least on Norris’s end. However, when it comes to Formula 1, every driver is as much an individual as he is a team player. So, keeping the individualistic approach alive, let’s look at the strongest driver among the four because, according to Eddie Jordan, there is a clear winner.

He said, “At the moment, I’d say that Max Verstappen would still win if Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, and Fernando Alonso were in equal machinery. Verstappen has a new inner belief of himself and will continue to improve.” According to him, the Dutchman is the clear winner even in equal machinery.
