“It’s Been Emotional”: Lando Norris Left Overwhelmed as First Podium at Home Made Special by Fans

Every driver or athlete experiences a phase or an event that fully rejuvenates their motivation to an entirely greater level. It seems that the British GP was the event this year in McLaren’s driver Lando Norris‘s career which has left him overwhelmed. At the British track, the Briton put up a spectacular show by beating the crowd favorite Lewis Hamilton with his McLaren rocket ship. However, just after the setting happened, the 23-year-old’s day was made even more special in his own backyard by his loving fans.

Fans are the lifeblood of every sport, and they have played a significant part in Formula 1’s success, as evidenced before Lando Norris’ amazing P2 finish while he held off Lewis Hamilton. And now that the day is done and dusted Norris recently posted a video on his Landolog YouTube channel. The Briton has shared on this particular social media platform how the F1 fans at the pre-British GP event impacted his day.

There, Norris could be seen having fun and connecting with the crowd. However, as the clip was coming to a close, Norris was seen appreciating the crowd and getting overwhelmed. Having earned his first podium in an updated McLaren at his own backyard (the British GP), the 23-year-old said, ” Well guys it’s been emotional, it’s the end of the British Grand Prix but we came away with a P2 my first Podium on home soil, it was incredible, one of the best days I’ve ever had.

“Was a tough race but incredible so many of you cheering me on and showed me my name and this and that um so I want to say a big thank you to every single one of you who was cheering me on and shouting for me.”

Later he added, “Been here yeah but I can see so I do want to say a massive thanks you made it a very very special weekend ciao. but uh yeah emotional was um extremely enjoyable I loved every second of it and um racing was visited the fan stage the whole crowd it was crazy.”

Even though McLaren had the improvements, it still required a driver with Norris’ ability to bring it to its pinnacle. That is exactly what the British driver did, earning him a well-deserved P2. On this occasion, the man who has seen Norris closely and is preparing for his comeback to the F1 grid has shared his opinions on the 23-year-old’s superb driving.

The F1 silly season is in full swing, and there have been significant rumors about Lando Norris transferring to Red Bull. Although neither party has stated anything. However, there has been some F1 expertise that, if put into a winning or competitive enough car, Norris can continue to compete for victories and might even give a tough bout to Max Verstappen.

In light of these headlines, Daniel Ricciardo who has shared the garage with both drivers opted to give his views. Let’s see what the honey badger has to say about the “phenomenal” talent of Lando Norris. As per Crash, Danny Ricc said, ” There’s no doubt that Lando is extremely good. So I look at that and I’m like, ‘Okay, this kid is maximising everything he’s got.’ I’m sure he would be quick in a top team. I don’t have any doubt about that. I think he’s proven himself.”

Later while drawing parallels to the both magnificent drivers, the honey badger said, “ Comparing him to Max, it’s hard because did Lando put in some amazing quali laps? Absolutely. Were they as good as anyone on the grid? Probably. But obviously Max has done that as well. I think there have been days where he obviously looks as good. But to draw a like-for-like comparison, it’s tough. But I think he’s very, very good.”
