Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have enjoyed tremendous amounts of success in their relationship. The 7-time world champion joined the German team at the start of the 2013 season after leaving McLaren. He has won 6 of 7 World Championships with them and helped the team in winning 8 consecutive constructors World Championships.

Lewis will break another record in Formula One when he takes the track in Saudi Arabia. The race in Jeddah would be his 180th race start with Mercedes pipping the record held by Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. Hamilton was shocked to know this record and was taken aback by it.

“The fact is, Lewis and I have a good relationship. They’ll twist my words slightly to blurb a headline, such as me trying to take Lewis’ crown away or whatever. But I don’t feel like that. I’m in F1 because I want to be World Champion, that’s obvious. And if I’m going to be World Champion, I’ve got to beat everyone – Lewis included,” said George.

Although it is still early in the partnership between Hamilton and Russell, it would be interesting to see if their dynamic will change if both drivers start competing on the same level.

Currently, both of them are working in tandem with each other to get the W13 much more competitive against their rivals. But there might be some fireworks between them if the German team eventually starts to compete for wins and championships.
