Max Verstappen secured his second world title at the Japanese Grand Prix. It was a dominant drive under treacherous rainy circumstances. The Dutchman led every lap of the race which was reduced to around 45 minutes after a long stoppage prompted because of Carlos Sainz’s crash. Formula 1 veteran Michael Schumacher’s brother, Ralf Schumacher, however, feels he still has a long way to go to be counted among greats like Lewis Hamilton and his brother.

Max Verstappen did not have the best of starts to the current season. This was not because of any faults of his own. The car in the initial races was facing issues. However, as the season progressed, Red Bull made crucial amends to the car to make it what it is today.

Ralf Schumacher wary of comparing Max Verstappen with Lewis Hamilton

Ralf Schumacher recently praised the Flying Dutchman in his recent column in Sky Germany. He congratulated the 2nd time champion and lauded him for overcoming a tough start to the season. Ralf wrote he was more impressed with Max’s feat because he could achieve it despite teammate Sergio Perez not being in the best of form.

Ralf, however, wrote that it was too early to say if Max could break his brother Michael and Lewis Hamilton’s joint record of 7 world titles. He wrote, “Even though he’s only 25 years old, I think it’s a bit premature to think about tackling the records set by Lewis Hamilton and Michael.”
