Ferrari have come roaring back in the 2022 season. The Italian team is currently leading both drivers and constructors World Championships after the first 2 races. Other than a strong car, they have arguably the best driver lineup on the grid, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
But the team had an advantage over their rivals, Red Bull and Ferrari, coming into the season. Since they had finished 6th in the constructive world championship in 2020, they decided to look at the bigger picture, rather than focusing on the near future.

The 2020 season was Ferrari’s worst in 40 years, as they could only manage 3 podiums throughout the season. Arguably, their worst race of the season was at the Belgian Grand Prix when their customer teams passed them on the track.
Can Ferrari F1 win the championship in the 2022 season?
Both Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc could not manage to qualify for Q3 after locking out the front row in 2019. They eventually finished P13 and P14 with Vettel leading Leclerc.
On that particular day, the Italian team took to Twitter to post an inspirational message for their fans. They promised the Tifosi that they will return to the top of the sport soon and fight till the end.

“Surrender is not an option. Disappointments push us to work even harder. Being Ferrari is not a label, but a way of dealing with things, which will not stop us until we get back to the top,” read their post.
With 2 races in the 2022 season, Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto mentioned they are well prepared for the development war that they will face during the season.

“Today we are much better prepared than in the past to do a good job with development. We [also] have a budget cap which will affect the rate of development–we need to make sure we have the right policy on that, as it could be a game-changer in the fight for development,” said Mattia.

It is simply great to see the most legendary team on the grid back on the top of the table. But they will be wary of the threat that they face from Red Bull and Mercedes throughout the season.
