To rise in F1, a driver needs to back himself and his capabilities, no matter what noise the world makes. Moreover, to compete in Formula 1, you need to prove that you are more hungry for glory than any other driver on the grid. In 2010, Sebastian Vettel did the same and stole the limelight by clinching his maiden world title.

In a 2010 pre-season interview with BBC, when asked who is the favorite to win the world championship? All F1 pundits except one, couldn’t help but put their money over the winners of the previous seasons.

The interview kicked off with the F1 experts placing their bets on constructors champions and the answer from David Coulthard created havoc inside the room. The former Red Bull ace backed his team to raise the 2010 title. Henceforth, when the time arrived to place their bets on the driver’s champion, everyone picked the McLaren duo, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

“Seb: “And I took that personally”
