In a recent post by Golf.com, the 11-time PGA Tour victor, Jon Rahm, could not hold back from commenting on his opposition’s team when asked about their final list, which unintentionally seems to be aligning with the rival team captain’s choices. In the video, the man behind the camera can be heard asking the reigning Masters champion if he was surprised by the US Team Captain’s picks.

The Spaniard, in turn, revealed that he actually had not seen the picks yet. And seconds later, when he learned that the American team had announced all six of its remaining players, he couldn’t help but gape in awe. Rahm then began guessing who had made it to the team, with the first name out of his mouth being that of Ryder Cup veteran Justin Thomas, which he believed had people buzzing given his recent form. Of course, he was right!

The interviewer further added to the golfer’s knowledge of who made it to the team. While he stated the first two names of Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas, Rahm was quick to add Jordan Spieth‘s name. Affirming Spieth’s presence on the team, the man further adds Sam Burns and Collin Morikawa to the list, notably missing Rickie Fowler‘s name. Jon Rahm commented on the selection, saying, “No surprises there. I would have been able to tell you 11“.

The PGA Tour professional mentioned the dilemma the last spot might have created, with three probable picks in mind. However, he seemed to believe that Burns was a great choice. “He’s been playing great for the last few years,” he claimed.

While he acknowledged that 2023 had not been the youngster’s best season, he reiterated that Burns had won the match-play. Concluding his analysis with a simple shrug, Rahm paved the way for some great responses from the golf spectators too!

The golf community praises Rahm and his foresighted predictions

Jon Rahm, through his skills and laurels, has already made a place for himself in the hearts of golf enthusiasts. However, with his latest interview and its handling, it looked like the 2021 US Open victor would win fans’ hearts. Highlighting the same, the users commented, “Decent golfer but a pretty damn good analyst in real-time, too”, “Love hearing him talk golf“, and “Rahmbo is awesome“.

One of the golf devotees went a step ahead and found Rahm a new career as well. He said, “Rahm has a future in broadcasting man. One day he’s gonna be awesome to listen to on the broadcast“. Another couldn’t help but joke about his on-camera persona. He wrote, “Rahm’s look into the camera is a lot less menacing when he’s not on the golf course“.

A couple of other fans couldn’t help but comment on how on point the PGA Tour star was with his assessment of the US Ryder Cup team. They commented, “Good content alert” and “I don’t understand why this isn’t everyone’s reaction. Why get so mad?

Meanwhile, one of the users couldn’t stop himself from mentioning Bradley and his absence, as a couple of fans noted how Fowler wasn’t mentioned by Rahm. They said, “And Rickie Fowler?”, “The disrespect not naming Rickie is crazy, and “Keagan [Keegan] should have been picked”.
