Deiveson Figueiredo Reveals Why He Changed His Game Plan for UFC 255

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Alex Perez was the main event at UFC 255. The highly anticipated flyweight bout between ‘Daico’ and Perez was billed to be a close fight between two of the best at 125 pounds. However, what transpired was anything but close. Figueiredo took less than two minutes to pull off one of the slickest submissions in the promotion’s history.
Perez came into the fight on the back of a three-fight win streak, with two of those wins coming via stoppages. The former Dana White’s Contender Series fighter would have liked to display his skillset more against Figueiredo. The champion, however, was too good tonight.

In the post-fight interview, Joe Rogan asked ‘Daico’ if he adopted the southpaw stance to avoid the low calf kicks.
Via a translator, he replied, “You’re exactly right. That is what we were doing. We changed our stance because he never saw me kick on previous fights. But I knew I could kick him and that he would not have that on film. And I want to face Brandon Moreno and Dana, make this happen. That’s the fight I want to happen.”
