It was painful for Kyle Busch to leave Joe Gibbs Racing last year after being associated with them for 15 years. It wasn’t a pleasant breakup by any means. Time and again, the two-time Cup Series champion has made his feelings clear. In line with this cold feud, he recently took a dig at the Joe Gibbs Racing owner.

Busch has been in the sport long enough to understand the dynamics on and off the field. In his stellar career, he has faced several injuries. Recently, he shared his views on Chase Elliott’s latest injury. He talked about how intense it was and how he had tried to help Elliott. During the interview, he seemed to take a shot at Joe Gibbs while recounting his own experience of dealing with injuries when he was part of the JGR team.

Racing in NASCAR is a taxing job. It is physically draining, let alone the mental and emotional toll it takes. After being in the sport for so long, Kyle Busch understands it better than most.

Speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Busch said, “We [racers] all are human and we all should be able to live life and not just be locked in a room with bubble wrap. You know, our entire time trying to be a NASCAR driver, we are only allowed out on the weekend.”

The 37-year-old then took a massive dig at Joe Gibbs. Speaking on how Joe Gibbs tried to restrict his off-NASCAR activities, Busch said, “I feel I got a lot more leverage at JGR when I got hurt in a JGR car. I was always racing late models and some other stuff but I told Joe.

“He was always like don’t do that stuff, we don’t need you to get hurt. Well, I got hurt in his car so I had a lot to say, or a lot of power I guess after that fact.” Clearly, he didn’t miss out on taking shots at Gibbs before he showed his empathetic nature to the world.

Just days before the Las Vegas Motor Speedway race, it has come to light that Chase Elliott will not be participating in it. The Hendrick Motorsports driver is out with a leg injury that he suffered while snowboarding. He has already gone under a successful surgery and Busch provided additional details about the injury.

Showcasing true sportsmanship, Rowdy had earlier texted Elliott, wherein he had said, “Hey, I have been there before, I know what you are going through. Call me. I would love to talk to you about the process and what it’s going to be like. I know the doctors in Charlotte if you want any of those guys, the therapist and the rehab guys, the team I had, they are fantastic.”

The RCR driver added that he is curious about the different healing processes sportspersons adopt. He said, “I know he [Elliott] is in good hands with Mr. H [Rick Hendrick] and everybody over there. But it’s … I being through injury a couple of times, I like to hear kinda hear how different people go about their rehab and what their processes are.”

Having himself suffered a similar injury in 2015, Busch predicted when Elliott might be able to return. He said, “I kind of talked to Hendrick too (about) his knee and just told him stuff that I did because I remarkably made it back in 11 weeks. I don’t think Chase’s injury will be that long.

“My foot is what kept me out of the car the longest, not my leg. But, I do believe Chase is gonna be out for at least a month, no question.”
