Perhaps the one thing that NASCAR drivers pray for during a race weekend is to be able to end a race on a good note, or maybe in the top 3. A wreck is surely the last thing they would ask for. But hardly a race runs its course with no wrecks. It is no surprise that the pressure that these drivers face is immense and certainly overwhelming.

Only one race a day can send chills down the spines of NASCAR drivers. So you can imagine that racing in two different formats, at two geographically different locations, is nothing less than a superheroic deed. Kyle Larson, however, is treading on the same path, as he prepares himself for the surprises that await him next year.

Kyle Larson Expresses His Concerns Ahead of His Debut in Two Coveted Races

In the history of NASCAR, there have been a handful of drivers who have made it big in the different formats of racing, especially IndyCar. And those handfuls of names also include the name of Hall of Famer Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch, who competed at two different races on the same day. Nothing could be more challenging than this.

Now, Hendrick Motorsports’ speedster Kyle Larson is ready to take up the same challenge, as he prepares himself to compete in the 108th edition of Indy500 next year. But before he does that, the No.5 driver wants to make make sure that he minutely looks into each and every detail to avoid any last-minute glitches. He revealed this to Dale Earnhardt Jr ahead of the 107th Indianapolis race.

As an analyst for NBC, Dale Jr asked the No.5 driver, “You have 600 miles to run tonight at Charlotte, what do you want to accomplish this afternoon?”

The 2021 Cup Series champion retorted, “Well, I wanted to come here and kind of experience it again and get to witness how crazy it would be in the middle of it, next year. So just I kind of want as little of a surprise next year, as possible.”

He added, “So that’s why I wanted to check out a practice day and it was good to see that and kind of see how relaxed it is because I didn’t think that it would be and then just going to see like where stuff laid out, hospitality, garage stalls, team meeting rooms, stuff like that.”

“And then the logistics are gonna be crazy, so I get a little glimpse into it today. Hopefully, it all goes smoothly, and can get to everything I need to get to and hopefully have some good runs.”

Racing at one of the most prestigious races will surely add another feather to the impressive resume of the No.5 Chevrolet driver, as he gears himself up for his debut on the tracks of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He even found support from the Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon who expressed, “I did say to him, he’s going to be able to live out a dream of mine, but to me, this is equally as exciting because, for one, I sure as heck right now don’t want to drive into Turn 1 at 238 mph, or whatever they’re running. But Kyle does. Kyle is capable of it.”

Larson, who will make his debut in the Indy 500 in collaboration with McLaren Arrow and Hendrick Motorsports, had revealed to FOX, “I look forward to it. Putting yourself in different situations or different environments is great and it helps you grow as a driver, as a person, as everything. I really look forward to the opportunity. … It’s going to be such a cool experience.”
