Kyle Busch and Joey Logano haven’t exactly been getting along. This started when the defending Cup Series champion wrecked Rowdy Busch during lap 86 of the inaugural Busch Light Clash. Moreover, sparks about a serious rivalry started flying when Busch called Logano “two-faced” in an appearance at Sirius XM NASCAR Radio following the event.

Explaining why he was upset with Logano’s actions, Busch stated that Logano was being an “a**hole on the racetrack.” Furthermore, he shared that before the race, the two of them had exchanged pleasantries. Hence, it was all the more shocking for Rowdy to see Logano dump him the way he did during the race.

But irrespective of the bad blood between the two, Kyle Busch‘s statement about Joey Logano before Sunday’s Pala Casino 400 was kind of unexpected.

In a pre-race conversation with Chris Myers, Clint Bowyer, and Tony Stewart, Myers asked Busch who were the drivers that looked like a competition to him. To this, the Richard Childress Racing driver replied,

“All of them! You gotta beat all of them. Parity right, you guys talk about parity all the time. I mean there’s gonna be some guys that are gonna run up front, you know. [Tyler] Reddick was superfast last year in the car I am driving. So, we’ll see what he has this time around. So, Chase Elliott’s always fast, [Kyle] Larson’s always fast here. So, there’s gonna be a few guys…Logano’s always good. We’ll just have to see how it plays out.”

Although Logano did not top Busch’s list of competitors, the two-time Cup Series champion did not forget to appreciate his rival’s driving talent.

The competitors that Kyle Busch had mentioned during the interview with Myers also had a good run at the Auto Club Speedway. Though Tyler Reddick got collected in a crash in lap 86 and Kyle Larson finished 29th, both Chase Elliott and Joey Logano made it to the top 10. Chase Elliott finished right behind Busch in the second position. While his “two-faced” rival Joey Logano finished 10th.
