It is all or nothing for the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. A win keeps their season alive, a loss sends them out of the playoffs. The 17-time champion have to potentially make history to win the series against the top-seed Denver Nuggets. The intensity was bound to be sky-high. Denver wants to close the series, and Purple and Gold want to continue competing. However, the objective turned into violence as LeBron James and Nikola Jokic’s teammate got into a heated exchange.

A battle of offense vs defense ended up with The King shoving the Nuggets star. Referees and players had to step in to separate the altercation.

For James the aim was simple – he wants to do anything to keep the season alive. In his strict chase, the fans saw a rare moment of frustration, attempting to shake off Aaron Gordon, The King took exception to the physicality. Violently pushing his hand out of the way, he dragged the Nuggets forward into the stands. Referees went wild on the whistles, while the players gathered to separate the two.

James tried to ease the tension later, trying to talk to Gordon. However, the 27-year-old was evidently frustrated as he walked away.

In the face of making history, LeBron James responded with arguably one of his most prolific performances. H scored 31 points in the first half, not missing a single one of his four three-pointers. He was the fuel for the Lakers as they took an 18-point lead. But by now we know, the Nuggets can flip the switch in a matter of minutes.

The Joker led a barrage in the third quarter. As the Lakers missed shots, the Nuggets had individuals step up to score. Outscoring the Lakers 36-14, they put their rivals in a five-point hole. The 2020 NBA champions lost the energy that gave them the edge in the first half. What’s more, is that Anthony Davis is yet to find any sort of rhythm. Now, the Purple and Gold need a quarter of wonders to comeback and keep their story alive.
