No one can deny how important LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been to the Los Angeles Lakers. They were the main reasons why the purple and gold side won the 2020 NBA title. Playing with both would seemingly be an honor for any NBA player. However new Lakers recruit Patrick Beverley thinks differently. According to him, Davis and James should be honored to play with him. Beverley, known for his controversies, has raised the heat again with this opinion of his.

He said, “They’re gonna be playing with me. I made the playoffs last year, they didn’t.” This might have been a shot at the Lakers missing out on the playoffs, despite the two being available last season.

Beverley was recently acquired by the Lakers and can possibly be a good asset for them. His willingness to win was probably a big factor for the franchise which had a dismal record last year.

The point guard has had a very active off-season. The Minnesota Timberwolves traded him to the Utah Jazz to get big man Rudy Gobert. The Jazz sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers so that they could get Stanley Johnson and Talen Horton Tucker. Beverley had indicated that a move to Los Angeles was his dream.

Last year, Patrick Beverley’s Timberwolves qualified for the playoffs stage through the play-in tournament. They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers to get through to the next stage.
