This is gonna be a hard pill for the fans and the franchise to swallow. Monday night, the Golden State Warriors faced a humiliating loss against the New Orleans Pelicans in the absence of Stephen Curry. This was a match that the Warriors supporters don’t want to watch again, but there was a moment in the first quarter that showed us a glimpse of LeBron James’ iconic chase-down block by a Warriors star.

During the first quarter of the game, the 6ft 6 and 284 pounds Zion Williamson was rushing toward the net to score an easy putt. Chasing him down was the Warrior’s star power forward, Jonathan Kuminga, who blocked the shot in the iconic LeBron James style.

Even the commentator screamed at the top of their voice, saying, “Swatted by Kuminga.”

But later on, the New Orleans Pelicans went on the dominate the entire game, winning by a 45-point margin, the final score being 128-83. This loss was, arguably, one of the most embarrassing losses in the history of the Golden State Warriors. The Pelicans’ forward Brandon Ingram outshined everyone on the court by dropping 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists during 31 minutes of action.

This embarrassing loss came in the absence of all the Warriors’ big names, including Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. They were given a rest following their win against the Houston Rockets the night before. This certainly points toward the weak young squad of the team. Though Jordan Poole was the highest scorer for the Warriors against the Pelicans, he scored 26 points in 27 minutes.

Let now look at the performance of the young members of the team. Jordan Poole played in 17 games, scoring 15.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. The 20-year-old Jonathan Kuminga appeared in 13 games scoring 4.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game. And Moses Moody appeared in 15 games and scored 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists.
