One of the most successful trios in the NBA for the past decade has been the big three of the Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have been playing alongside each other for the entirety of their careers. So, the news of one of them being traded away from the team really has left NBA fans in shambles. And it’s not to trade him away from the Warriors, but instead for the Warriors to keep their power forward. 

There is arguably only one player out of the three or even the entire Warriors team at this moment that fans would not want to have on their favorite team. And that is none other than Draymond Green, which is surprising as he’s a four-time NBA champion and a real defensive asset to any team. 

No one seems to want Draymond Green

A Western Conference executive told Heavy.com what the ideal landing spots for Green would be. The executive listed the Los Angeles Clippers, the Boston Celtics, and the Phoenix Suns as the most ideal teams to trade for Green. 

The Warriors have had their fair share of off-court drama this season involving Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. However, the good thing is that the incident seemingly hasn’t affected their play on the floor so far. But the Warriors still continue to struggle with an 8-9 record for the season so far.

“They’ll Lock up the Whole League”: NBA World Is Buzzing as Draymond Green Exit Rumours May Be Good News for Lebron James’ Lakers

Fans on the other hand were not in favor of the Warriors looking to trade Green. Not because they don’t want to see the trio break up, but because they don’t seem to want Draymond Green on their favorite team’s lineup. One fan tweeted, “We don’t want him.” While another fan commented, “Boy shut yo dumb a** up”.

Should the Warriors break up the Stephen Curry-led trio?

It would arguably be hard for the Golden State Warriors front office to replace what Green brings to the floor and to the locker room. The four-time NBA champion compliments Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson’s game really well on the court and knows what the two shooters prefer while playing. 

And as for the other teams, adding Green would certainly give them a defensive advantage but his attitude is something to be concerned about. The Western Conference executive did also point out that Green, “might wind up upsetting too many of his own guys”.

Golden State has not indicated any potential interest in trading the 11-year veteran just yet.
