The Phoenix Suns defeated the LA Lakers in a close encounter (115-105) on Wednesday. The game was marked by a brilliant performance by Devin Booker. In the aftermath of LeBron James’ injury, the Lakers suffered a heavy loss.
It was going smoothly until Patrick Beverley made a move that got him thrown out. While the Suns were already in the lead at 106-96, with only four minutes remaining. The block attempt ended up in a foul for Booker for hitting Austin Reaves.

As a result of this incident, Reaves lies on the ground, and Booker and Suns center DeAndre Ayton stand beside him. Immediately following this, Beverley ran into Ayton and pushed him to the ground. This resulted in both team players coming to the court for a solution.
There were indeed many comments thrown at one another in the arena as a result of that. In regards to this, Booker came forward to address the issue. “Pat needs to stop pushing people in the back, man. Push them in the chest. That’s all I have to say,” Booker told TNT’s Chris Haynes afterward.

Furthermore, Beverley also shared his thoughts on what was wrong with the situation. “I felt like the play kinda got out of control after the stay-down at Austin Reaves by Book, then another stare-down by Ayton and the refs didn’t really come in and break it up,” Beverley said following the game. There has been a strong reaction to this on social media, with users sharing their thoughts.
The ejection of Lakers star Patrick Beverley sparked tempers
Apart from this, it is not the first time something like this has happened to Beverley. It was not the first time that he pushed a Suns player during a game. Even during the Western Conference Finals of 2021 while he was playing with the Los Angeles Clippers.
A shoving incident, he had with Suns’ guard Chris Paul led to criticism. Again, this resulted in a huge reaction from fans on Twitter. An explosive brawl at the Lakers game left Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis fuming on Twitter. This led to many fans commenting “You’ve Graduated to a Full-Blown Clown”.

In terms of the teams, the Lakers might need to improve their situations; especially in such a scenario, they must be more cautious. The team cannot afford to have any players ejected during the game. Their performance in previous seasons has already placed them in the target territory.
