Carmelo Anthony was the talk of the town after he called out the Denver Nuggets on his podcast. Melo was unhappy with the way the franchise treats their players after they leave the organization. He was visibly upset about the fact that they gave his jersey number to a 41st overall pick, Nikola Jokic, who is now the superstar of the team. The 39-year-old faced some severe backlash over the week for throwing shade at Jokic and, thus, he decided to settle the narrative once again.

Anthony has no hate towards the Joker. He shared on his newly released podcast that it was the Nuggets who he was angry at. Carmelo Anthony explained, “That organization didn’t handle it well when it came to the number.” He was not mad that the Nuggets gave his jersey number to Jokic, but he believes that it shouldn’t have been given to anyone.

Melo brought the organization to the postseason for the first time in 2004. For six continuous seasons, they made it to the playoffs every year and without him, the Nuggets wouldn’t have gone anywhere in the 2000s. Anthony believes he deserves to get his number ’15’ retired, but instead, the Nuggets have already given it to their franchise cornerstone.

Carmelo Anthony brings in a Kevin Durant disrespect to support his narrative

Melo needed some history to show why he believed the Nuggets did not honor him. Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder after 8 impressive seasons. Despite all the success he brought, his number ‘35′ was given to an undrafted player, P.J. Dozier, who the team signed on a two-way contract.

KD made it to the playoffs for six times in his 8 years at OKC. Same was the case with Jermaine O’Neal. The Indiana Pacers legend wore the number ‘7’ for eight straight seasons and he was on his prime all those years. Although he couldn’t get them a championship, the respect he brought in was something many appreciated. The Pacers did not retire his jersey and now Buddy Hield is wearing the number for the Pacers.
