After Las Vegas Raiders HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, got fired on the same day, is the axe now going to fall on QB Jimmy Garoppolo’s head? In big moves that shook the Raiders team and their fans, are there more sackings up ahead? With a passer rating of just 78.1, the 31-year-old has lost more games for the Raiders than he has won this season. And it seems the higher-ups are getting impatient with his performance.

If the Raiders team can fire their HC and GM without any warning and for a 3-5 record, it seems they won’t hesitate to pull the plug on Jimmy as well. And Garoppolo is the one leading the team on the gridiron.

Is the axe going to fall on Jimmy’s head soon?

Taking to X, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, broke the news that the Las Vegas Raiders are going to bench veteran QB Jimmy Garoppolo in favor of rookie QB Aidan O’Connell from next week. “The promising O’Connell now gets his shot,” Ian said. But what about Jimmy? Will he take his being benched in favor of a rookie lightly? But how did things end up looking so bad for the Raiders in the first place?

The veteran QB has only 7 TDs to boast of this season and has thrown 8 interceptions in the 5 games that he has played. He made the switch from the San Francisco 49ers to the Raiders only this year, and it already seems like his stint in Vegas is going to be short. He failed to make his presence felt in the team and had already been replaced by the young O’Connell for two games this season. If Las Vegas does decide to kick him out, where can he find refuge?

Three teams which could receive Garoppolo with open arms

After a rough 5-3 start to the season, rumors started floating that Broncos’ QB Russell Wilson could be benched. But that seems like a low-chance prospect now that they beat one of the strongest teams in the league, the Kansas City Chiefs. Their recent victory ended the 16-game curse and finally gave Broncos Country hope that their team stands some chance of making 2023 a winning season.

Another destination could be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the team looks to fill in the wide gap left by Tom Brady. Jimmy G plays a similar style to his former mentor. But the Bucs will need to figure out their money situation first. According to Spotrac, they just have a cap of $4,643,228 left. Will that be enough to sign up a QB the stature of Jimmy G? But, if they really want him, maybe Bruce Arians and the front office will find a way.

Or maybe he’ll decide to go back to his former team, the New England Patriots, and usurp Mac Jones as starting QB. At the Patriots, he will be reunited with his former coach, Bill Belichick, who is calmly watching the demise of a legendary franchise. If Garoppolo decides to jump ship to the Pats, maybe they will have some chance of making at least a 0.500 record this season. But for now, all we can do is wait and watch.
