The Los Angeles Chargers have had a mixed season so far. But there is some semblance of hope for the team before a big game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. They are hopeful of getting back WR Keenan Allen fit for the game on Sunday. This is a big boost for a team marred with struggles injected bad vibes.

The Chargers-Chiefs matchup is one of the pivotal games in the AFC West division. A win for the Chiefs may mean the end of the divisional title aspirations for the Chargers.

The Chargers hopeful of Keenan Allen’s return

Keenan Allen sustained a hamstring injury in the week one clash with the Las Vegas Raiders. He returned for the week seven game against the Seattle Seahawks, but it aggravated his injury in the bye week that followed. So now, the coaching team may be a little cautious with his return.

“I’m pretty sure, 100 percent sure. I’m 100 percent sure … we’ll see what the coaches want to do,” Allen said on the question about him playing on Sunday. He had missed the previous game against the Chiefs, which the Chargers lost in game week two. The veteran WR would love to help his team extract revenge and keep their season going.

Keenan Allen’s return is a key to the Chargers’ playoff bid this season. The team last played in the playoffs in 2018 when they lost the division round against the New England Patriots. The Chiefs, their opponents for Sunday, are dominating the AFC West and have won 7 out of the nine games they have played. To stand a chance of outscoring the team led by Patrick Mahomes, they need every offensive weapon firing.

Allen has featured in just two games this season, catching a total of six balls. He gained a total of 77 receiving yards but could not score a touchdown. So, he will be raring to go against the division leaders.
