Tom Brady and the Bucs are going to the playoffs for the 14th straight time in his decorated career. And sports isn’t the only field the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is excelling at off-late. Brady recently ventured into producing movies. ’80 for Brady’ premieres on January 23, 2023, and was the first feature display at the Palm Springs International Film Festival this week.

Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Rita Moreno, and Lily Tomlin feature in the sports comedy film revolving around the adventures of the four elderly women during the New England Patriots’ 2017 Super Bowl championship game. And the iconic Oscar-winning actor and model, Jane Fonda, had some major Brady fangirl moments.

Tom Brady and Co. are in playoff mode already and the seven-time Super Bowl time champion was not present at the PSI Film Festival screening of his movie. However, Brady has a cameo role in the movie. And he is not the only one. TB12’s former New England Patriots and Buccaneers teammate and 4x Super Bowl champion, Rob Gronkowski, and a few other Patriots also feature in the film.

And meeting G.O.A.T-ed athletes is always a thrill. It wasn’t any different for Jane Fonda, who plays Trish in the movie. “I started to get weak in my knees. I took one look at Tom Brady and almost went down,” Fonda told KESQ New Channel-3 reporters at the red carpet premiere of the festival.

Fonda explained it’s because of Tom Brady’s impressive resume, as meeting someone who is the best at what they do is always exhilarating. Even for an illustrated celebrity like Jane.

A Brady movie about the 2017 Super Bowl championship makes sense because of the sheer tenacity shown by Tom and the Patriots to win it that year. Bill Belichick’s boys trailed 28-3 to the Atlanta Falcons when Brady, Gronk and the rest pulled off the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The game has been infamously nicknamed the ’28-3′ and is considered by many to be the greatest Super Bowl game ever played. And to this day, Super Bowl LI remains the only championship decided in overtime.

Tom Brady and the Patriots won 34-28. And Brady’s 462 passing yards earned him his then-record 4th Super Bowl MVP. He also became the oldest SB MVP in 2017, a record he himself broke in Super Bowl LV. Maybe we can expect an ’80 for Brady’ remake for another epic future championship title game.
