Back in September 2023, during the NBA finals, Jimmy Butler was asked to comment on Lionel Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami, to which he replied by heaping praise on the Argentine icon. “A lot of good. Obviously, he’s one of the greatest players to play that beautiful game. And I’m so excited for the city of Miami to have a player of that caliber here,” said the 34-year-old.
