Breaking records seems to have become a child’s play for Kylian Mbappe. Just days ago, aside from helping France clinch a gigantic record victory in the UEFA Euro qualifiers, the Frenchman also managed to ink his name in the history books. It has come to light that the PSG superstar has broken a unique age-old record in tandem with surpassing Lionel Messi‘s goal tally at the same age.

Meanwhile, following the win, the lethal striker may not have received direct praise from his national team coach, but he did get backed up after being criticized by his PSG’s manager, despite scoring a hattrick.

On late Saturday night, France played their UEFA EURO qualifier match against Gibraltar, where they managed to thrash the away side with a record 14-0 scoreline. Surprisingly, nine French players found the back of the net, including a Gibraltar own-goal. But the spotlight was on Kylian Mbappe, who clinched a personal record, clinching a record milestone of 300 career goals with a perfect hat trick.

But it seems like the Frenchman broke yet another record, which dates back as far as 58 years. Apparently, at 24 years and 333 days, he is the youngest to score 300 goals for a European top 5 club with national team selection. This achievement surpasses that of Jimmy Greaves from England, who did so on November 28, 1964, at 24 years and 282 days.

Notably, with this feat, the French skipper also transcended Lionel Messi’s record set 11 years ago in 2012 at 25 years and 4 months. Nevertheless, Kylian Mbappe can’t seem to catch a break from writing history. Interestingly, when the player was asked about his 300 career goals achievement, he claimed it meant nothing to him!

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
