Conor McGregor might have a fault in his stars, as he had one of the worst weeks in the recent past. While the Irishman remains hopeful of his stellar comeback, other events aligned to give the former champion a setback. The UFC star has taken a hit on both occasions- his rival claiming a win and he himself slipping down the order.

The first of two particular events happened in the Mayweather vs Deji exhibition fight. And the second one was the outcome of a lightweight bout at UFC 281 involving Renato Moicano.

Deji achieved his target against Floyd Mayweather

When ‘Money’ entered the boxing ring on Nov. 14 against Youtuber-turned-boxer, Deji, nobody gave a shot to the social media star. However, the younger of the Olatunji brothers himself knew of the uphill task before him. Therefore, he earlier in a press conference revealed that his only purpose in going into the ring was to hurt ‘Pretty Boy’.

Significantly, the British content creator achieved his target as he left the legendary fighter with a black eye. Following this feat, Deji also tweeted, “I gave Floyd a black eye.” The perfect 50-0 record-holder boxer also confirmed the same by admitting that his opponent gave him a bruised eye.

However, as expected, the legendary boxer made quick work of his opponent in the ring and knocked out Deji in the sixth round.

Notably, the Irishman fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017 in his debut professional boxing match. But the outclassed former UFC champion lost the fight in the 10th round by TKO. Billed as ‘Money Fight’ filled the pockets of both the fighters as the Dublin-born himself banked $100 million.

Since then, ‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought in the boxing ring and thereby holds an unimpressive record of 0-1. But the talks of their potential rematch often gain traction here and then.

Moicano jumps over Conor McGregor

The Brazilian fighter Renato Moicano electrified the T-Mobile Arena on Nov. 12 with his performance and then with his cage interview with Joe Rogan. After securing a dominant submission win at UFC 281 against his opponent, the lightweight fighter was also duly awarded.

In the recently updated UFC ranking, Moicano penetrated the division ranking at #13. Significantly, another UFC star, Dan Hooker, moved one spot higher and claimed the #11 spot. However, ‘Mystic Mac’ dropped one spot to claim his new #14 rank.
