The boxing manager Eddie Hearn recently took to his Instagram handle to share the happiness of meeting the UFC superstar, Conor McGregor. The reason behind the meet-up was to talk about the venue of the boxing match of the Irish boxer, Katie Taylor. Hearn talked highly of the Irishman. Under the Instagram post, Hearn wrote, “Good catch up with @notoriousmma today—appreciate your support of the champ, @Katie_t86.”

The sports promoter had great things to say about the Irish superstar, mainly for showing so much enthusiasm for helping Katie Taylor. It was because of McGregor’s help that Taylor will be having her boxing match in Croke Park in her home country.

The boxing fans were highly disturbed to learn that the boxing match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will take place at the smaller 3Arena. They wanted the match in Croke Park, where nearly 80,000 people can be accommodated. However, due to higher security expenses, Hearn was against the idea.

Later, the Irishman came into the picture. McGregor made sure that he paid the security amount. This will help Katie Taylor to have a great fight in the best venue. McGregor will now pay €500,000 for the security in Croke Park. The boxing match is scheduled for 20th of May.

Conor McGregor lends a helping hand

After their wonderful meeting, Hearn detailed the conversations they had in an interview with iFL TV. When the interviewer asked about his experience meeting the UFC icon, Hearn said “He’s so full of energy and he’s very passionate about things like, well, obviously he’s very passionate about Katie Taylor bringing a big event to Ireland.”

Hearn continued “Just the way he talks about boxing, the way he talks about mixed martial arts, the way he talks about his business, his brands, different territories was pretty, I mean not like bow down to him but we went to the black Forge which was his pub that he bought. Unbelievable food, the chain-like, and everything is done to the highest level.”

In the further conversation, the sports promoter talked about the Irishman’s excitement to have a great match in his own land. He also talked about how McGregor kindly treats Taylor for the great boxer she is. Furthermore, Hearn remarked, “He’s genuinely passionate about Katie Taylor. He loves her. He thinks she’s amazing.”

‘The Notorious’ is passionate about boxing

 The UFC’s two-division champion is undoubtedly passionate about MMA. However, it is also true that ‘The Notorious’ is passionate about boxing. Something that proves the Irishman’s love for the sport is his recent Instagram post. In the post, McGregor was seen taking training in boxing. However, McGregor has already been a part of a boxing match against the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in 2017. The match was called one of “the biggest fight in combat sports history.”
