Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s coach, Javier Mendez, believes that Nate Diaz can be a skilled boxer. The reason for his belief is that Diaz trains with boxing legend Andre Ward. Andre Ward is one of the greatest boxers, whose boxing career spanned from 2004 to 2017. He retired from the sport with a clean record of 32 victories and zero losses. Sixteen of his wins were by knockout. While an active boxer, he held multiple world championships in two different weight divisions. Mendez feels that Diaz will flourish as a boxer under the guidance of Ward.

Diaz stands at a crucial point in his combat sports career as he prepares for his boxing debut. His opponent is none other than the famous YouTuber and athlete, Jake Paul. Diaz was one of the top fighters in the UFC, and when he left the promotion to become a free agent, many speculated that he would turn to boxing. He did precisely the same. However, his fellow UFC fighters and fans doubt if he could excel as a boxer, as he is so used to MMA. Nonetheless, Mendez’s words gave an assurance about Diaz’s boxing skills. According to the Californian fighter, the world’s best boxer trained him well.

So Nate Diaz obviously has a tremendous value because he was boxing with him for many years. Andre Ward used to even come to my gym to sparring some of my guys. So you know he was in all fairness. When I saw him I said, ‘Damn, this is the best boxer I’ve ever seen in person’ you know. In my eyes, this is when he was an Olympian. He just won the Olympics, and he came into my gym and I watched him. I said ‘Wow this guy’s so dedicated, so talented you know.’” According to ‘The Eagle’s Coach, Ward is the greatest boxer of all time.
