Justin Gaethje finally avenged his loss from 2018 against Dustin Poirier. He captured the BMF title after registering an amazing knockout win, which is worthy of constant replays, at UFC 291. Meanwhile, former UFC double champion Conor McGregor tweeted after the fight and sent a warning to ‘The Highlight’.

Many people were heavily leaning on Dustin Poirier to win the fight and become the promotion’s second BMF champion. However, he was not able to overcome Justin Gaethje, who recently came off a win against Rafael Fiziev in a brutal beat down at UFC 286.

The fight started off pretty well, with both fighters trading strikes at each other. At one point, Gaethje almost got rocked with one of Poirier’s shots. However, the first ended with ‘The Highlight’ receiving a cut on the side of his head. The second started off slowly, but then came a surprise. Justin Gaethje landed a head kick, reminiscent of Leon Edwards‘s head kick on Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. That immediately dropped Dustin Poirier to the ground. ‘The Highlight’ followed it up with a few more strikes while his opponent was laid out. However, referee Herb Dean put an end to the fight. Following Gaethje’s win, McGregor had something to say to him. Let’s see what he had in mind.

‘The Notorious’ was certainly watching his fellow lightweight fighters fight to claim the title of the UFC’s BMF. After Gaethje registered his win, Conor McGregor sent a warning to him and claimed that he would easily beat him up. He tweeted, “Justin, I’ll slap you around.”
