Jon Jones’ much anticipated heavyweight debut has finally been announced and speculations surrounding the update have already started doing the rounds. While Jones is going to face Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight gold, there is also news about a former double champ working with Jon Jones leading to the fight.
Jones has trained with Henry Cejudo several times earlier and the duo does share a great chemistry. In a short video posted by Cejudo, ‘Bones’ talked about his experience working with the Olympic medallist. The 35-year-old also complimented the former double champ on his approach and passion for MMA.

Jon Jones on working with Henry Cejudo
Henry Cejudo over the past year has trained multiple UFC athletes leading up to their fights. The former Olympian has worked with the likes of Zhang Weili, and Deiveson Figueiredo, helping them out with not just their wrestling but their overall game. Jones also has trained on some occasions with Cejudo as he made his transition to heavyweight.
While complementing Cejudo as a leader and tactician, Jones talked about Cejudo’s attention to detail as to what set him apart from the rest.

“Henry is just super passionate about MMA man and it’s the details you know. It’s really just the details and fine print when it comes to Henry, that’s what makes him’s special” stated Jones.
When asked if he would work with Cejudo for a longer camp, Jones responded: “Absolutely, I’d love to have Henry coaching me for the Cyril Gane fight. Hopefully, our schedules can align, get on the same page and he could be one of my corners.”
Well, having a former double champ besides presumably the GOAT of MMA is something that only a few could have imagined.

Shockingly, the promotion also decided to let go of Francis Ngannou after a disagreement over contract discussions. With a vacant title, the promotion has decided to set the bout for UFC 285 on March 5.
