Jackie Chan terrified his son
According to his book Never Grow Up, the 68-year-old martial arts icon once hit his head on the way down a backflip. Despite the pain, he was struck with an idea. He thought to himself, “Why isn’t my son here to see me getting injured?”. Chan wished his son would acknowledge how hard he works, and hence, sent for his assistant to get his son to the scene.

“Go get him, tell him I’m injured,” Chan declared to his assistant. While his wingman rushed to his son, the Hong Kong actor held his head and posed to be awfully hurt. His assistant woke up a sleeping Jaycee and exclaimed, “Jaycee, Jaycee, your dad’s been hurt.” Evidently shaken by the case, he walked to his father with wobbly steps. Bogged down by anxiety, the kid tripped on a lying mattress and fainted on a crash mat.

However, after Chan shared his anecdote, he pondered over the idea of the episode being a great scene for his movie. “It’s a shame we didn’t film it,” he stated in the book. Although, this wasn’t the only instance of Chan trying to showcase his dedication to his son.

His stunts made his son cry
In the book, the legendary fighter once disclosed how his son ended up weeping in the bathroom after he performed a stunt. Apparently, Jaycee visited his father’s set for the first time, and Chan wanted to impart a drop of inspiration to his 9-year-old son. One of his acts involved an underwater stunt that his son witnessed. “He watched as I struggled in the water, looking tormented,” he said.

Moreover, the actor once again exaggerated his state and shivered in the cold, assuming his son would be appreciative. Later on, he enquired, “You see how hard Daddy works? I bet you didn’t know that before.” Conforming to his thought, Jaycee instantly confessed, “Yes. I had to run to the bathroom to cry halfway through.”
