Simone Biles displayed her determination in the 2023 USA Gymnastics World Championships Team Selection Camp. Through her staunch performance, Biles once again made it to the top of the podium and secured a ticket to the 2023 World Championships team, along with Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones, Joscelyn Roberson, and Leanne Wong. However, Biles’ best friend and gymnastics prodigy Jordan Chiles couldn’t make it to the final team roster.

Chiles had displayed her impeccable form during her uneven bars routine, which left the fans in awe of her skills. However, an out-of-bounds stumble marred what could have been a stellar performance. Her floor routine was awarded a score of 12.950, while Biles got a score of 14.300. Though Biles also faced a ‘fall’ in rotation-1, her day-1 scores were 55.700.

As the Day 2 scores have unfolded, so has some exciting news for Biles before the World Gymnastics Championships. However, Chiles, could not make it to the same event, as she finished 8th with a score of 27.200 on Day 2, and on Day 1 she came in 9th with a score of 53.650 not gaining a spot in the team.

Simone Biles takes the reins on World Gymnastics Championships team roster

As the 2023 USA Gymnastics World Championships team selection camp concluded, the US World Gymnastics Championships team took center stage. In a post on X by USA Gymnastics, the 2023 Women’s World Championships Team was unveiled: “Please join us in congratulating the 2023 Women’s World Championships Team presented by @Xfinity! Simone Biles,  Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones, Joscelyn Roberson,  Leanne Wong. Traveling Replacement Athlete: Kayla DiCello”

However, the keen and excited fans couldn’t help but notice one name conspicuously missing from this stellar lineup: Jordan Chiles. Biles received a 28.950 at the end of Day 2 but she had already secured her ticket to the Worlds on Day 1 with an AA score of 55.700, while Jordan Chiles scored 27.200, coming in 8th on the list and on Day 1 she came in at 9th with a score of 53.650. With spots for just the top 5, Jordan Chiles couldn’t end up in the USA Gymnastics World Championship team this time.

There is still reason for excitement as she is set to perform at the next games which are to be held in Santiago.
