CD Projekt RED’s futuristic RPG title Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone a lot of trouble ever since its failed launch. However, following a year of troubles for the developers, it seems like CD Projekt RED can finally move towards the future and execute its original plans. This includes the next-gen upgrade for the title. After a long wait, it seems like the developers have a plan in action that fans can start counting down the days for.

Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen upgrade to drop Q1 2022

Recently, CD Projekt RED posted a press release to review the recently concluded Q3 of 2021. The developers detailed the future of the company and its popular games in both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. The developers revealed they’re currently working on Cyberpunk’s next-gen version, and it will drop during the first quarter of 2022. Additionally, the developers also mentioned that a new update will drop for all platforms, which should fix more underlying issues.

Moreover, the company also announced the development of a new expansion as well. While fans will be really happy to know about a next-gen upgrade for PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S users, the news about an expansion has piqued the interests of the community. It remains to be seen what the expansion will contain, but it should surely excite the fans a lot. However, is it all worth it?

However, even though a lot of players picked it up during recent Black Friday sales, it’s very likely that the game won’t ever reach the level of original aspirations that fans had for the title before its release.

Even then, it still has one of the better storylines and visuals currently available in any RPG title. While it has its issues, players can hope to see many of them being removed with the next update. However, if CD Projekt RED wants the game to turn around its fortune, then it has to deliver massively with the next-gen version, which will arrive next year.
