The wrestling promotions these days work hard to achieve a certain number of viewership on their products. Probably the best example of this ‘ratings war’ these days is the rivalry between WWE and AEW.

Both the rival companies are constantly changing their products to get ahead of each other in terms of viewership. Last year, AEW defied all odds and replaced WWE multiple times in ratings and viewership.

However, with that same notion, Tony Khan was forced to move his upcoming edition of AEW Rampage. The February 18th show will now air earlier than normal. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the show will move to 7 P.M. EST because TNT will cover an NBA game that starts at 9 P.M. EST.

So, the hardcore AEW fans must adjust their day so that they don’t miss the February 18 edition of AEW Rampage.

Has AEW lost some momentum against WWE?

As mentioned above, last year Tony Khan’s company defeated Raw and other WWE shows multiple times in terms of ratings and key demos. However, it seems AEW has lost that momentum.

With Royal Rumble and the surprise returns at WWE, things have been hard for AEW. However, recently, AEW attracted some set of eyes when former WWE champion CM Punk suffered his first loss against MJF on the recent edition of Dynamite.

This came as a shock to many fans as they expected to see the battle at a PPV. However, the match between the two didn’t leave the fans unhappy as Punk put over MJF big time.

Eventually, AEW can repeat history like last year and defeat WWE again. The reason it might be possible is that recently AEW President Tony Khan revealed that there is a big surprise coming in the future.

Naturally, the fans are speculating that the former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt, aka ‘The Fiend’, will make his debut. Vince McMahon’s company shockingly released Wyatt last year, and as a result, the company suffered a major backlash from the fans.

If Bray debuts for AEW, this would be a gigantic move from AEW as a company because Wyatt has a hardcore fanbase and those people who want to see him back in action will surely turn to AEW.
